Yes. Berkshire Scenic trains operate rain or shine.

Are there restroom facilities on the train?
Restroom facilities are available on all trains as well as in the stations at Lenox and Stockbridge.

Can I reserve tickets in advance?
Yes. You may now purchase your tickets in advance here on our website. Advance purchase tickets must be bought online at least 30 minutes prior to the time you wish to travel and are on a will call basis only. You may also buy tickets in person at Lenox Station on the day of your trip right up until departure time. Special events tend to be popular, so your best bet is to arrive early to purchase your tickets and/or purchase in advance. Many of our most popular events, including the Polar Express, will require pre-purchase and will sell out well in advance.

Is the train handicap accessible?
We make every reasonable effort to accommodate our visitors' needs. However, handicapped accessibility on board is limited due to the narrow vestibules and door openings on our historic passenger cars. Power wheel chairs that do not exceed 26" wide by 36" long usually will fit in the cars. Handicapped accessible lifts are located at Lenox and Stockbridge stations. Please contact us with additional details relative to any special requirements prior to your visit so that we can ensure a pleasant one.

What other attractions are nearby?
After you’ve enjoyed your ride on the Berkshire Scenic Railway, consider spending part of your day in historic downtown Lee, Massachusetts. There’s also the world-renowned Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. You can also tour beautiful October Mountain State Forest, which has many opportunities for camping and hiking. Lenox is also home to the Tanglewood Music Center, where the Boston Symphony Orchestra has been performing since the 1930s. There’s something for everyone, please contact us for additional suggestions and information.

Can I get a ticket to Boston or New York?
Unfortunately, our seasonal excursion service only runs between Lenox and Stockbridge, without connecting services. Intercity passenger service to major points in the national rail network is operated by Amtrak, with the closest station located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Please consult Amtrak’s web site for details.
