Do you offer train rides?
Train rides between Lenox and Stockbridge remain suspended due to a decision by the Housatonic Railroad Company to NOT renew an operating agreement with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for operating tourist trains over their tracks. There are no plans to resume train rides between Lenox and Stockbridge.
Starting in 2014, we will be offering a brand new tourist train experience between North Adams and Adams called Hoosac Valley Service. Please watch our web site and Facebook pages for more details as they unfold.
What can I see at the museum in Lenox?
Visitors to our museum will be able to enjoy and tour our restored 1903 train station which formerly served passengers traveling on the New Haven Railroad's Berkshire Line. We also have recreated an authentic railroad block station to demonstrate how railroads safely moved trains before the days of reliable radio communication. You are also welcome to enjoy our collection of vintage railroad equipment located in the yard at Lenox.
What other attractions are nearby?
